Conca dei Marini

The valley by the sea, the "City of Sailors," the pearl of the Amalfi Coast where lemon orchards and aromatic flowers fragrances the Tyrrhenian air lies Conca dei Marini the small charming village with relics of the Roman Empire. This village sits 400 meters above sea level off the coastal cliff overlooking a panoramic view of the Amalfi Coast. Beneath the karst cavity of Conca dei Marini lies the Grotta dello Smeraldo, a rediscovered marine and inland grotto in 1932 by a local fisherman. Annually, divers assemble an underwater nativity scene made by ceramic artisans where a special procession is held.
